Don't Call Me Urban
Brand: Simon Wheatley
Agency: Organised Noise
A social media campaign celebrating the re-release of “Don’t Call Me Urban”, the acclaimed photobook by legendary London photographer Simon Wheatley, documenting the early grime scene and the culture surrounding it.
As Creative and Producer, I developed and oversaw a series of TikToks and Instagram Reels designed to introduce a new generation to Wheatley’s work. Each short film brought his archive to life, pairing archival photos, contact sheets, and grime classics with Simon’s own reflections on the moments behind his most iconic images.
The result was an intimate, nostalgic and authentic social series that reconnected Wheatley’s groundbreaking photography with the music and movement it captured, bridging the roots of grime with today’s digital audience.
