Producer and Music Supervisor.
Street Credit is a pioneering short-form music series bridging the UK grime scene with China’s hip-hop community, produced in partnership with Tencent for the youth-focused digital network Channel R, with sponsorship support from Beats by Dre.
As Lead Producer and Music Supervisor, I was responsible for contracting all talent, sourcing and licensing music, and overseeing the entire production — from concept development and on-set delivery to final release. I worked closely with both artists and crew to ensure smooth collaboration and strong creative alignment throughout.
The first instalment, Street Credit in London, paired Chinese rapper AfterJourney (4.3M Weibo followers) with British grime MC Cadell to explore the roots of grime. The follow-up, Street Credit in Chongqing, saw grime star Lady Leshurr collaborate with Chinese rap artist and producer Bridge (2M Weibo followers).
In both episodes, the artists co-wrote and recorded original tracks and shot accompanying music videos, fusing UK grime with Chinese rap in a unique cross-cultural exchange.
Through its bite-sized 5-minute episodes, Street Credit introduced Chinese audiences to grime while creating new pathways for international artist collaborations. The project sits within Channel R’s “Rhythm” strand, designed to spotlight global music movements and strengthen cultural connections between East and West.
